Who Invented the Internet?
Here we can see that how Internet has been started and grown
from an initial stage to now:
ARPANET (Advanced Research Projects Agency Network): It is a network that became the basis of the Internet. ARPANET was developed under the direction of the U.S Advanced Research projects Agency(ARPA).The first ever computer to computer link was established on ARPANET. On October 29,1969 this network sent a first message “LO” by Leonard Kleinrock’s team from UCLA (University of California, Los Angeles) to Douglas Engelbart’s Stanford Research Lab in Menlo Park, California.
In 1971 the first email was sent by Ray Tomlinson. Tomlinson was a pioneering American Computer programmer and also known as the father of email, He sent a simply test email to himself from one computer to another computer through ARPANET network.
TCP/IP (Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol): This is the most popular network protocol in the world. TCP/IP was designed by two DARPA (Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency) Scientists Vinton Cerf and Robert E. Kahn. This TCP/IP network allows one computer to talk to another computer via the Internet through compiling packets of data and sending them to right location.
WWW(Worldwide Web): It is invented by Tim Berners Lee in 1989. Tim Berners Lee is a computer scientist, He wrote the first web browser in 1990.
We all think that the Internet is working with the help of Satellites or Cloud services. But it’s not, you won’t believe that 99% of internet networks in this world is connected through cables (like land Line phones). These Cables are Spread all over the world from a place to another place and from one country to another country through Submarines. These cables are called Optical fibre Cable or Submarine Cable. And these Submarine cables and Fibre cables is produced with the Glass or Fibres. The Size of this is cable wire is 100 times less than a Human hair. We all know that every device has an IP address with the help of that IP address every information that we are sending is going through this small cable wires with a light speed.
Here we can see the main programming languages that are helped to grow the Network or Internet communications from Initial stage to now:
1. JavaScript–Brendan Eich is an American technologist and creator of the JavaScript programming language
2. Java–James Gosling is a Canadian computer Scientist, and he is the inventor of Java programming language
3. Python–Guido van Rossum is a computer programmer, and he designed the Python programming language
4. CSS–Hakon Wium Lie is a software developer, and he is the creator of CSS programming language
5. PHP–Rasmus Lerdorf is a Danish – Canadian programmer, and he is the creator of PHP programming language
6. Ruby –Yukihiro Matsumoto is a Japanese computer scientist, and software programmer and he is the chief designer of ruby programming language
7. C++ – Bjarne Stroustrup is a Danish computer scientist, and he is the creator and developer of c++ programming language
8. C –Dennis Ritchie was an American Computer scientist, and he created the C programming language
9. C# -C# programming language is designed by Microsoft Corporation
10. Objective C–Brad Cox is a computer scientist, and he designed the objective c programming language
11. R-R programming language is designed by Ross Ihaka and Robert Gentleman
